The online presentation with code ELEMKO webinar 101 is an introductory presentation on lightning protection and together with webinars 102 and 103 are the basic principles that a technician needs to know about the protection of structures against lightning. In the beginning, the presentation analyzes the natural phenomenon of lightning by presenting the basic theory of the creation of the phenomenon as well as the maximum, minimum and average values of the electrical characteristics of a lightning.

It also presents some recent events both from Greece and abroad concerning problems and damages that have been recorded from direct lightning strikes on structures.
