Lightning is a natural phenomenon that causes great losses in human lives every year, catastrophe in properties worth great amounts, destruction of unique cultural heritage sites, etc.

The protection of the building elements of a structure from the catastrophic consequences of the direct lightning strike is achieved with the external Lightning Protection System (LPS) which is designed according to the European Standard ELOT EN 62305-3.

In order to protect sensitive life activities from lightning strikes, such as hospitals, industries, telecommunications, air traffic systems, etc., it is necessary to install an Internal Lightning Protection System, which satisfy the European standards ELOT 62305-4, ELOT EN 61643-12 and ELOT TS 61643-22

The internal LPS consists of the equippotential bonding  of all conductive parts of a structure, the shields and the distribution of wiring as well as the use of surge  protection devices.
